ICAN PROFESSIONAL EXEMPTION GUIDELINES FOR EXAMINATION STAGE

 The exemption guidelines below are in accordance with the syllabus which was reviewed  & effective MAY 2010
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND   EXEMPTIONS:

A) B.SC/HND(Accounting) from an Accredited Institution in Nigeria   ( All subjects in foundation and intermediate)

B) B.SC/HND (Accounting) obtained from recognised institutions in Nigeria but not yet accredited by ICAN     ( All subjects in Foundation )

C)  B.SC/B.A/HND (Accounting) obtained from foreign recognised institutions    ( All subjects in Foundation and Intermediate).

D)  M.SC (Accounting) obtained from recognised institutions in addition to B.SC in any other related discipline   ( All subjects in Ioundation intermediate)

E)  Ph.D (Accounting)   ( All subjects in Foundation and Intermediate, and  Management Accounting and Financial Accounting in P E 1 )

F) B.SC Economics, B.SC Actuarial science, B.SC/HND Insurance,  B.SC/HND/B.A Business Admin/Management,  B.SC/HND Marketing,  B.SC/HND Banking & Finance,  MBA in addition to B.SC/HND in Non-Accounting discipline       ( Economics and Business Environment in Foundation )

G) B.SC. (Education) Accounting or B.Ed. Business Education (Accounting Option)     ( All subjects in Foundation  )

H)  B.Ed Education Management     ( Economics and Business Environment in Foundation )

I)   ATS 2 ( old syllabus )      ( Economics and Business Environment in foundation )

J)  ATS3 ( New Syllabus)         ( All subjects in Foundation, costing & Quantitative Techniques, Taxation and Audit & Assurance in Intermidiate  )
